Strawberry Fields Foredit

Right, I’m saying that the Purple Chick stereo version sounds true to the original stereo mix (like you hear on the old 87 CDs), only much better. And the remastered stereo does not sound true to the original stereo mix. I think the remastered stereo sounds mostly awesome — but they changed that one edit, which obviously Purple Chick would have kept.

Uh, how do I upload something? lol. Is there just a website or something I can go to? I’m a little bit technically illiterate in some areas …. :)

Here’s what I’ll do Curvature
Since I downloaded my older version of SSF and didn’t purchase the 87 CD, I’m going to upload it right now and you tell me if it the edit sounds different than the Purple Chick, which it should since it isn’t the remastered Stereo that was tampered with.
This pre-remastered Stereo version I have though sounds identical to the 2009 remaster though, with the exception of sounding better in my ears mainly because I guess it was mixed louder (but of course that’s a matter of volume)

anyway, here goes..

I’m pretty positive that 87 and PC sound the same in terms of the edit. The 87 version is where I fell in love with that part of the song, and then in PC stereo just sounded better.

Then, once I learned that SPLHCB mono was a million gazillion times better than stereo, I thought to myself, hey! Strawberry Fields was recorded at the same time! I bet that’s better in mono, too! So I listened, all excited … and was like WTF. It’s different. The transition has less of an impact. It doesn’t sound like there’s a band kicking in so much as layers kind of building up, I guess is the best way I can describe it? I don’t know. But I noticed the difference in mono, when I was expecting it be AWESOME, immediately. And I’ve stuck with stereo ever since because, like I said, that’s my favorite part of the song.

My husband heard it. It took him a while, but he heard it, and I just made him promise that he actually did hear it and wasn’t just saying it to placate me. And I believe him. So that makes me feel a little bit less like I’m imagining things and don’t know what I’m talking about. But yeah.
